Shimizu Iwaya Park, located in Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima, is a serene destination where history and nature harmonize. Along the clear waters of the Manose River, visitors can discover the Shimizu Magaibutsu Group, a series of Buddhist carvings designated as a prefectural historic site. These cliffside carvings, dating from the late Heian period to the Meiji era, stretch across a rock face about 20 meters high and 400 meters long.
